Project Review/ProcessFrom the beginning, this was a very open ended project that allowed us the freedom to work on any world problem we would like, and present our solution in anyway that conveyed our information simply and clear. Our first week of the project was almost entirely put towards researching our problem and brainstorming possible solutions for our problem. As a group we decided to divide our research and presentation into parts. I worked on the pros and cons of the American system and then compared them to of the leading school systems in the world, Finland. Pranav worked on common core and the advanced classes(AP classes), and whether they were a logical system or if they should be changed. Kian worked on the federal budget for education under both Trump and Obama, and whether the government needed to focus more time and money to the school system in America. Sam was the last section of our project, and he worked on diversity in American schools, and whether certain schools with a larger percentage of minorities has less opportunities in school. We the all took several solutions from each team member to create the ideal school system for the 21st century. We then spent our last two weeks creating our presentation(listed below) and fine tuning it to the required criteria. Our group ended up presenting to the class on the Thursday that we got back from holiday break.

EvidenceThroughout the entirety of this project everything that was done, said, or thought of was written down and then later used to incorporate into our presentation. Although it is useful to have all our thoughts and evidence down on paper, it is not always relevant to the solution or problem. Our full google slides presentation that we used in class will be posted below. If you would like to look through our research and thought process feel free to every that was relevant to the project was included in the presentation.
ConceptsSince each person in our group had their own portion of the project to research, the concepts each person had to understand varied from person to person. The main baseline of what we all had to know was a general overview of how the American school system works, and funded, but also how other countries schools operated based on different variables. We also had to have a basic understanding of the U.S. budget for education and all the special programs that have been in place over the past few decades.
